It is already known fact that getting pregnant during breast-feeding can be difficult and challenging. This is because breastfeed just like pregnancy causes some hormonal changes in your body which may make conception difficult. Prolactin which is the hormone responsible for the production of milk inhibits the production of estrogen in the body. Estrogen is an important reproduction hormone. Estrogen enhances ovulation and if the production of estrogen in the body is affected, it means that your ovulation will be affected and thus conception will be difficult for you. However, if you are breastfeeding and you will like to get pregnant, there are a lot of things that you should do in order to enhance your fertility and your chances of getting pregnant.

Supplement with formula

As it has been said above, your body reduces the production of estrogen which is a reproduction hormone during breastfeeding as a result of the action of prolactin that produces breast milk. You can trick your body into thinking that you are done with breastfeeding by reducing the number of times you breastfeed in a day. You can use baby formulas to breastfeed your baby. However, you need expert advice in this regard as a breast milk is the best food for your baby. An expert will advice on how and when to introduce formula and which type of formula is the best for your child at a particular stage of the baby's development.

Exercise patient

If you can, you should apply some patient and allow your body sometime to begin to ovulate again. Breastfeed your baby normally but as the baby is getting older and older reduce the number of times you breastfeed on daily basis in order to give your body some time to start ovulating. Waiting can be difficult and challenging for women that will like to get pregnant as soon as possible when they are breastfeeding.  If you cannot wait, then you have to supplement with formula or try other means.

Night weaning

Night weaning which means not breastfeeding at night is one of the ways of facilitating your ovulation. If you don't breastfeed throughout the night or at least six hours over the night, you will trick your body into producing more estrogen and thus helping you to start ovulating again.

Use supplement

There are a number of supplements in the market today that facilitates conception and enhances fertility. You should consider using such supplements. This is another area where you should be very careful. As it is said, there are a number of supplements in the market today, but they differ in their quality. Some have better quality than others. So, you need expert advice especially if you are just starting or first time mother. You have to ensure that the supplement you are taking to facilitate ovulation and enhance your fertility is a good one and not just knock off products or fad. Poor quality products can cause you some health problems and so you have to avoid such.

The above are some of the things you should do in order to enhance your chances of getting pregnant when you are breastfeeding.
